Youth Activities

Inkberrow Junior Church

Our Junior Church is designed for children and young people who think they are too young to enjoy the main service in church. Most of our members are somewhere between the ages of 3 and 12. We meet in St. Peter’s Hall, next to the church, starting and 10.45am (the same time that the service in church begins) and we join the main congregation in church during the last part of that service, and enjoy the refreshments afterwards! During their meetings, taken by some fantastic leaders, the children and young people, enjoy worship, learning from the Bible, crafts, drama, cooking and games - a variety of different activities which help them develop their knowledge of the Christian faith and help them to grow into a full part in the life of the Church Family.

Cookhill Junior Church

About once a month (often on the second Sunday of the month) we have a young people’s teach-in and activity based on one of the Bible readings being read in church that day. We have a dedicated children’s area which we use as our base.
Our Junior Church therefore runs at the same time as the main service (from 9.30am until about 10.45am), and we contribute to it and sometimes involve all of the adults in what we are doing or making! Whatever happens, we always get to enjoy the refreshments after the service!

Noah's Ark

This is a pre Sunday school group, who meet every other Monday during term time. It is “ a short informal service and activity on a Christian theme, designed for young children babies, parents and carers together.” It provides a great opportunity for parents to introduce their children to a form of Christian worship from an early age. Meeting dates

Young People's Confirmation Classes

Only take place for about six months before the confirmation service. It is designed and adapted with careful consideration of the candidates who are preparing for their Confirmation, and the course helps them pave the way for their future Christian life.

All of the young people’s groups run by a team of dedicated individuals, without whom none of this would be possible.

Parish Workshops

We hold occasional ‘Workshops’ around the parish – usually 3 or 4 a year. They are a mixture of worship, crafts & design, refreshments and fun, and often end with some sort of ‘finale’ to bring everything together!

We arrange these events to help the whole church (all ages) celebrate some of the major festivals and seasons. In 2007, for instance, we have held Workshops for Palm Sunday, Good Friday, Advent and Christmas. In 2006, we celebrated St. Peter and Harvest in the same way.

Although the adults tend to think of Workshops as ‘for the children’, they actually enjoy themselves just as much!

Here are some pictures from the Good Friday Workshop, at St. Peter’s Hall, in 2007. We were exploring the meaning of the cross, and making different styles of cross from around the world….
