PARISH NEWS - for July & August 2008


Parish Lunch Club - NEWS: Our next meetings are 16th July, 20th August and 17th September (11.30am - 2.30pm, in St. Peter’s Hall, Inkberrow). If you know anyone who is isolated or ‘home alone’ who would like to join, please contact us via the links on the Hompage. This year, the club’s nominated charity is St. Richard’s Hospice.

Thank You to The Ballard Singers and everyone who came to support their super concert last month. We raised about £350 for St. Peter’s Church funds.

Healing Prayers: We regularly offer the Laying on of Hands with Prayer during our Communion services. This is for anyone feeling in need of God’s blessing and help in their lives - or on behalf of others. Our next Healing Prayer Sundays are 6th July, 9.30am (at St. Paul’s, Cookhill) and 13th July, 10.45am (at St. Peter’s, Inkberrow).

St. James' Patronal Festival: is being celebrated on Sunday 20th July, 10.45 am. THe whole parish is invited, and tehre will be special refreshments after the service. NB Come and admire the new carpets and curtains!

'Let My People Go!' This summer we are going to focus our Sunday sermons on the story of Moses- with pharaoh, the plagues and the crossing of the Red Sea. It is not only a colourful tale, but THE great story of the Old Testamnet which undergirds much of the New Testament too. So from 3rd August to 7th September inclusive, we shall be unpacking the Exodus. Come and join in!

Meet Bishop John: our new Bishop of Worcester: On Thursday 4th September, Bishop John is visiting our deanery. At 7.00pm that evening, there will be an open meeting to which all parishioners are invited. Look out for posters - venue Evesham Town Hall.

  • God's Family Together:

    Noah's Ark is a short, informal service for babies and pre-school children, with their parents and carers, in St. Peter‘s Hall, Inkberrow, from 1.45pm until 3pm. Come and help us celebrate Easter and then learn more of Jesus’ stories! See Noahs Ark page for more information.
    Dates coming up are:
    14th July: The Big Party (with Picnic beforehand at 12.30 pm);
    After the summer holidays, our dates are 8th & 23rd September. Everyone is welcome.

    Crèche Areas: for parents and children are open at St. Peter’s and St. Paul’s during all services. Activity sheets, based on the Gospel of the day are usually available.


    Parish Sunday Schools: Faith, Fun & Friendship

    The Parish Sunday Schools meet on Sunday mornings, from 10.45am, in the St. Peter’s Hall, Inkberrow, next to the Church. All children, from 3-4 to 12 years old, are welcome to come and share worship and learning together in God’s family. Please contact us via the Homepage if you want more details.
