Parish of Inkberrow with Cookhill,Kington with Dormston

Ministry

The parish is served by a Local Ministry Team as part of an overall commitment to "collaborative" ministry. We believe that all Christians are called from their baptism to share fully in the life and mission of the Church, and all have gifts to offer within the Body of Christ.

The Local Ministry Team (LMT) was first licensed for 5 years beginning January 1995 and is now in its third period of ministry (with some personnel changes). The team includes clergy, Readers and other lay members who have been selected by the Church members then trained and commissioned by the bishop.

LMT members share responsibility for the oversight of pastoral care, planning and leading worship, teaching and nurture, throughout the parish. In practise, many other lay people are involved in these ministries.

The team’s work is particularly focused in the encouragement of all members of the congregations to discover and exercise individual talents and gifts. The aim is that every Christian can contribute to the richer life of our church fellowships in all four churches and grow in confidence in their ministries within their communities and workplaces.
